How to Acknowledge the NIEHS Training Grant in Research Posters and Publications
According to the NIH Guidelines on Publications & Citations, recipients of fellowships are required to list their fellowship support under Acknowledgements in any publication they participated in while receiving support from the training grant. This includes Publications, PowerPoint Presentations, Posters, Book Chapters etc., and of course, your thesis. Importantly, this is NOT restricted to research published while you were supported by the training grant, but also to any research published after your support ended that is relevant to the research for which you were awarded the fellowship.
Please use the verbiage as posted below:
If you are receiving an NIH fellowship, for each publication that results from NIH grant-supported research, grantees must include an acknowledgement of NIH grant support and a disclaimer stating the following:
- "This publication was made possible by an NIEHS-funded predoctoral fellowship to [insert trainee name or initials] (T32 ES007059)" or "The project described was supported by Grant Number T32 ES007059 from NIH NIEHS" and "Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the NIEHS or NIH."
Note: NIH is the abbreviation for National Institutes of Health; NIEHS is the abbreviation for National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
